Prince Philip Barracks is located to the west of Bordon at the gateway to the South Downs National Park. The site has been declared surplus to requirements by the MoD and will be vacated in 2015. The Team worked with St Modwen to produce a viable and attractive masterplan for the site, aiming to create a truly sustainable community for the 21st Century. New development would regenerate the failing town by redefining Bordon as a place of choice; providing a new town centre supported by 2,400 new, high quality homes that would effect a step change in the quality of the built environment. The landscape strategy was a key part of the plan and provision of a large area of SANG area was crucial to the success of the scheme. Significant work was undertaken to define the SANG boundaries and protect the distinctive mix of heathland and woodland that characterises the local landscape.
