1. Easton Park is located close to Stansted Airport, immediately west of the historic market town of Great Dunmow. The masterplan for Land Securities proposes a mixed-use, sustainable urban extension of approximately 700 new with easy access to the existing town centre, affordable housing, community facilities and access to the wider countryside. Development is defined by the natural landscape and ancient woodland network so that it integrates with the landform and setting to mitigate potential visual impacts that were of concern to local residents. Careful consideration was given to character areas to ensure the special character of Great Dunmow was not compromised. The application was based on planning parameters and an illustrative masterplan was produced that indicates one way the site could come forward in accordance with those parameters.
